🌍 A Note for Our International Customers
In our ever-changing world of global trade, please be aware that customs duties, tariffs, and import taxes may apply when your order arrives in your country. These charges are set by your local government—not by Le Serey—and can vary depending on your location, the type of product, and its declared value. While we do everything we can to make international shipping seamless, these fees are outside of our control and separate from the shipping costs you pay at checkout.
A quick overview of what that means:
-
What is a customs fee? It’s a government-assessed charge (often called duties, VAT/GST, and/or import taxes) on products being imported into your country.
-
Who sets and collects it? Your country’s customs authority sets the rates, and the delivery carrier (we ship via UPS) collects the fee on their behalf—sometimes with a small brokerage/processing charge. This fee usually comes to you directly via email or text, asking you to pay the duties before your package will be delivered. The postal worker may or may not leave a note at your door or in your mailbox - this varies depending on the carrier and your location.
-
Why it’s separate from shipping: Our shipping fee covers getting your order from our studio to your country. Customs fees are not set or controlled by us, and we don’t see or receive any part of them. They’re determined by your local laws and can vary by product type, value, and destination. We also don’t have any way to predict these fees, as they are not within our control and can often change. If you have questions about these fees, please contact your local customs office before placing an order.
-
What happens if I don't pay these fees? Please read our policies below
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMS & DUTIES POLICY
At Le Serey, we strive to provide seamless international shipping. However, please note that all customs duties, taxes, and import fees imposed by your country are the sole responsibility of the customer. These charges vary by country and are determined by your local customs office.
Customer Responsibility:
-
Le Serey does not cover customs duties, taxes, or fees associated with international shipments.
-
If a package is held by customs due to unpaid fees, it is the customer’s responsibility to resolve the matter with their local customs office.
Refusal to Pay Customs & Denied Shipments:
-
If a customer refuses to pay customs duties and denies the package, they remain responsible for the shipment until it returns to our studio.
-
Once the package arrives back at our studio, it will be processed as a return, and any applicable return shipping fees will be deducted from the refund. Initial shipping fees are non-refundable.Â
-
If the package does not return to our studio due to customs denial or abandonment, Le Serey will not issue a refund for the order.
By placing an international order with Le Serey, you acknowledge and agree to this policy. If you have any questions regarding customs duties in your country, we recommend reaching out to your local customs office before making a purchase.
