*Note: Gold Vermeil is industry regulated at 2.5 microns of gold, but because gold plate is an unregulated category on the market, it's tough to know how many microns of gold are in the finished product and how durable you can expect your jewelry to be. Most gold plate on the market uses only 0.07 microns of gold, which is cost effective for the producer, but not durable for the customer.

At Le Serey, we are meticulous about quality and durability. That's why our custom mix & match charms use an extra heavy 1.0 microns of gold and are finished with a strong e-coat. This is many times more gold than most of our competitors use, but the extra gold means your jewelry will last longer, wear better, and age slower.

For our base pieces that get heavier wear (think: hoops, rings, studs, chains), we use 14kt gold-fill with 5.0 microns of gold to ensure a durable, near-permanent gold finish.

14kt goldfill 5 microns is TWICE as much real gold as gold vermeil, and HUNDREDS of times more real gold than the typical gold plate jewelry.
